Squirrel Control in Atlanta and North-Central Georgia
Squirrels, like all rodents, have sharp, strong teeth and powerful jaws. Their jaws are built-in nutcrackers, after all, so they have to be strong. Squirrels can chew holes through most building materials to get into buildings, and their gnawing causes considerable damage. In addition to the physical damage caused by squirrels, their urine, droppings, shed hairs, and parasites also create a health hazard. Dead squirrels can cause odors and serve as a breeding medium for flies and other insects when they die in wall and ceiling voids, soffits, and other inaccessible areas. (This is one reason why you should call an animal control specialist, not a "squirrel exterminator," for squirrel control.)
Professional Squirrel Control
Squirrel control also requires working up high using long ladders, scaffolding, or bucket trucks -- not the sort of things that most people have sitting around in the garage. No worries, though. We do have everything needed need to get rid of your squirrels, as the pictures below illustrate. We're Georgia's leading animal control company, so no squirrel control job is too big or too difficult for us. Rid-A-Critter provides safe, professional, non-chemical squirrel control in Atlanta, Macon, Athens, Columbus, Roswell, and most of Georgia. But we're not "squirrel exterminators." We're wildlife management professionals. Our earth-friendly, humane squirrel control program provides long-lasting control of gray and flying squirrels, without pesticides or environmental toxins. We were performing "green" squirrel control before it was fashionable to be green. Our comprehensive squirrel control program includes:
We're experts in trapping and removing squirrels, as well as squirrel-proofing to keep squirrels from getting back into attics, soffits, barns, silos, lofts, bell towers, and anywhere else they are creating a nuisance.
Squirrel DamageGray squirrels and flying squirrels are aerialists who are tree-dwellers by nature. They become a nuisance when they cause damage to homes by getting into attics by gnawing holes in roofs, eaves, gutters, and soffits. They often chew right through rain gutters, siding, and fascia board to gain access to attics and other protected areas inside buildings. In addition, many of Georgia's older buildings have lots of architectural features that make them especially prone to squirrels getting inside their roofs and attics. Squirrel control in Georgia's historic, landmark buildings is vital to the preservation of our heritage.
Signs that You May Have a Squirrel Problem
How are the Squirrels Getting into My House?Non-toxic squirrel control begins with figuring out how the squirrels got into your building in the first place. We're experts at finding and repairing the holes squirrels use to get into your house or building. The pictures on the right demonstrate the importance of a skilled eye in professional squirrel control. The top picture is a roof vent. It looks perfectly intact to the layman's eye. But to a squirrel control professional, the vent and the old squirrel droppings screams out for a closer look. The bottom picture shows what we found: A virtual highway for squirrels. Removing squirrels without fixing the holes creates a revolving-door effect, with "new" squirrels moving in almost as quickly as the "old" squirrels are trapped and removed. For successful squirrel control, repairs have to be done to keep the squirrels out of your home permanently. In Georgia, identifying squirrel holes is especially difficult. Georgia is full of grand old buildings whose magnificent architecture provides many ways for squirrels to get in. But even new homes can have squirrel problems. Obviously, trapping squirrels without closing up the holes would be a never-ending job and a waste of money. That's why hiring Rid-A-Critter for squirrel control will save you money in the long run. We don't just trap squirrels; we squirrel-proof your home to prevent squirrels from getting in again. Here are a few pictures of squirrels, squirrel control, squirrel damage, and squirrel-proofing jobs we've performed over the years.
